The organisers of the ninth Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Academic Network Conference have announced that they are accepting submissions of full papers. The conference, which will run from 26 to 27 September 2017 in Berlin, is a collaboration between the PRI and the University of Hamburg. It will bring together academics, investment practitioners and policy-makers to explore the “latest research on responsible investment practices.”
The deadline for submissions is 1 April 2017. To learn more about the conference or to submit a paper for consideration, see the event website.
Organisers are accepting papers on four key topics: “Working to achieve a sustainable financial system,” “The role of responsible investment in meeting today’s investment challenges,” “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration” and “ESG engagement.”
The PRI is a United Nations-supported network that serves as “the leading proponent of responsible development.” At its core are the Six Principles for Responsible Investment, which have been signed by roughly 1,700 parties. According to the PRI’s mission:
We believe that an economically efficient, sustainable global financial system is a necessity for long-term value creation. Such a system will reward long-term, responsible investment and benefit the environment and society as a whole.
The PRI will work to achieve this sustainable global financial system by encouraging adoption of the Principles and collaboration on their implementation; by fostering good governance, integrity and accountability; and by addressing obstacles to a sustainable financial system that lie within market practices, structures and regulation.
