Statement by the Science Counsil of Japan published
In April 2016, the Science Counsil of Japan officially announced a Statement to urge the sceinece community and the societal stakeholders in Japan to promote Future Earth that strives for the global sustainablity through interdisciprinary and transdisciprinary research.
Japan Strategic Research Agenda developed
Future Earth published the Strategic Research Agenda 2014 to set research priorities to achieve its vision for people to thrive in a sustainable and equitable world.
The Japan Strategic Research Agenda (JSRA) was developed in collaboration with stakeholders to identify priority research areas to contribute to a sustainable future while optimising Japan's distinct research arenas. In February 2017, the selected 10 themes and 110 priority research topics were announced at a Symposium held in Kyoto.
The project was conducted by RIHN under a program supported by the Research Institute of Science and Technology for Society (RISTEX), a unit of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). RIHN will further extend its effort to draw up the regional strategic research agenda for Asia.
